Hot Rodent Boyfriends: The New Trend
Male beauty standards have taken an odd turn in the modern era. According to a recent social media trend, guys with animal-like facial traits are more attractive.
The most recent of these is the “Hot rodent boyfriend.” Men with rodent-like traits are referred to by this phrase. On “Today with Hoda & Jenna” in June 2024, Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager openly acknowledged this issue.
The “internet boyfriend” look is allegedly celebrated. “They’re svelte (with) angular features and bodies,” Kotb clarified, and Hager continued, “Not necessarily conventionally handsome, which makes them even hotter.”
This trend has been accepted by X users. “Men are either eagle handsome, bear handsome, dog handsome, or reptilian handsome,” claimed one X user.
“Another remarked, “Stewart little if he was human and hot,” next to pictures of actor Mike Faist, who most recently starred in the sports movie “Challengers.”
Another person shared a collage of animated mouse characters from the films “Stewart Little” and “Ratatouillie” along with the comment, “I’m sorry but they’re the guys from ‘Challengers,” which was a reference to Josh O’Connor and Faist.
“Golden retriever” partners like Travis Kelce are no longer the norm, according to another. These men have been replaced by attractive rodent boyfriends. “[…] We are now entering rat boy summer, if you look rodent like you’re in luck the girlies want you!” the user commented.

Social media users have also strongly linked the sexy rodent boyfriend image to Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Jeremy Allen White.
